Staying here was a culinary adventure! Don and GG's Food and Spirits nearby served up some epic comfort food and the cozy sauna was a delight after exploring. The virtual check-in was a nifty touch and the vintage room gave off that classic roadside charm.
This place used to be run by real people. Now it feels cold and impersonal with the kiosk check-in. While the charm remains, some dust and dirt have crept in. My heat was stuck on 76 degrees, so I had the windows open the whole time. It’s a shame to see the past charm fade.

sauna, automated check-in, reasonable price
The automated check-in process felt clunky and confusing!!! Stains were noticeable in several areas, with an unsettling feeling of uncleanliness. It's tough to enjoy a stay when the floor isn't reliable and the shower is tricky to use!!!

We loved staying close to ABR Trails and Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort. Even with my two boys, the cozy room and the kind owners made it a memorable base. The sauna was a fantastic surprise, and the nearby dining options were delightful!
My children wanted a breakfast option for a better start.

We had such a great time here! The sauna was a fantastic way to unwind after our adventures, and the cozy room gave us the perfect spot to recharge. Just a heads up, the early check-in fee felt a bit unnecessary, but it didn't take away from our overall experience! 😊

I stayed for 3 nights in a double room, and it was a cozy spot! The beds were super comfy, and I loved the vintage fixtures all around. The room was tidy, which is a must. Having a sauna was a fun bonus after a day of exploring. Plus, it was nice to be only 20 minutes from Lake Superior. Pretty neat touch with the smart locks for check-in too—no hassle at all!

The location was fantastic. It was close to everything we wanted to do, like visiting Lake Superior and enjoying the beautiful waterfalls nearby. The room had a cozy vibe with vintage fixtures and comfortable beds, which made it a charming stay. Having a sauna was a delightful surprise after a day of adventures. I appreciated the virtual check-in process, making things convenient. However, there were a few bumps. The air conditioner was noisy, and the room felt a bit humid at times. I also noticed some dirt accumulation that detracted from the otherwise tidy experience. The lack of on-site staff made certain situations confusing, such as when I tried to check out and faced issues with the kiosk that consumed too much time. Overall, while the charm is there, a bit of attention to cleanliness and operational issues could enhance the experience significantly.

Retro charm and ski fun!
We had a fab time! The Guest House was super spacious for the whole crew, and my Queen Room was cozy and clean, with this cool 70s vibe. The kitchen was handy for late-night snack attacks! Just wish the WiFi was better. it was a bit spotty sometimes. But honestly, we were too busy skiing to care much!
